How to Make Bison Bone Broth

Bison Bone Broth is chock full of health benefits. We've included our favorite recipe for making your own broth. Perfect for Bison Soups and Gravies or just drinking it straight.

  • Place your choice of vegetable in a large crock pot (I use onions, carrots, and celery), these are added for flavor as you'll strain them out once your broth is done.

  • Add approximately 3 - 4 lbs of Bison Soup Bones on top of the veggies and cover with water.

  • Add 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar.

  • Add your favorite spices and/or herbs (I use salt, pepper, rosemary and garlic (cloves or powder))

  • Cook on low heat for 24 hours.

  • Remove vegetables, add more water to cover the bones and cook for an additional 12 hours - for a total of 36 hours.

  • Pour the broth through a strainer and voila your broth awaits.

You can use your broth for cooking, making gravy or just to drink straight. If you don't use the broth immediately you can store it in the fridge for a 2 - 3 days (in airtight containers) or freeze for up to 2 months. If you cool the broth, a layer of fat will form at the top simply scrape the fat off before re-heating.
